Example for a /etc/grub.d/ file (for kubuntu on /dev/sda10) [1]:

> vim /etc/grub.d/kubuntu

       set root=(hd0,10)

EOF

Reload the configuration an write grub2 files:

> sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
